Bottom Brackets

The BB30 bottom bracket allows you to pair 30mm spindle cranks to 42mm inner diameter bottom bracket shells. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially-designed cranks and many have found the benefits to them. Road versions have a 68mm width, MTB has 73mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace bearings in PF30 cups. You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. BB30 was designed to make the bike lighter: no cups, threading, or redundant metal, plus a lighter, stiffer crank. That's why the crank spindle is 30mm, which was a big jump up from square-taper spindles. CeramicSpeed standard bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. That's thanks to balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. Ours are finished with CeramicSpeed Bearings. You have two choices in terms of bearings. All Round Grease comes installed, but can be changed for lower drag TT and Track Grease, or higher durability LongLife Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in the bearing when riding through messy conditions. BBright is the Cervelo bottom bracket standard found on most of their frames, save the P5. In order to fit Shimano and FSA cranks into this oversized shell, this bottom bracket, complete with CeramicSpeed Bearings, needs to be pressed in. The BBright bottom bracket comes with either CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings installed. Super smooth, super-round CeramicSpeed Balls contained in hardened-steel races are found on both versions. The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in lower drag and longer life. BBright is similar to BB30, but is wider on the non-drive side. As such, the bottom bracket for running 24mm diameter cranks from Shimano, FSA, and others, is unique. BSA is equivalent to English threading. English threading on road bikes mean a 68mm-wide, 34mm inside diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit works with 24mm diameter cranks, such as Shimano, FSA, Rotor, and others. Choose between two bearings for the cups. Standard Bearings have low drag thanks to hardened-steel races and our Ceramic balls. Coated Bearings have those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. English threading is easy to work with, and 24mm spindles easily fit through the shell, allowing for large bearings to be employed in the outside cups.
